It is this tendency that causes mankind to look to government….billionaires…. specialists…. deemed experts and what have you, to make uncertainty disappear from everyone’s lives. This is not possible. It is possible to live comfortably in the world the way it is. The light of reality – or fantasy free advantage, provides the necessary technique. Because of the fear of the unknown, folks assign unreasonable tasks to government, authorities and role models.

Over time, populations all over the world have commissioned their government to do things that government does not have the means to do. What ensues are countless government programs, laws, stimulus and interventions designed to provide certainty & safety to populations subconsciously in pursuit.

As a result, society is inundated with parasitic agencies – all ostensibly committed to assuaging folk’s fears. It is not that fears are without justification. The fact is, assigning tasks to others which are impossible to perform, causes multitudes of problems…. while collective initiatives cannot and never will accomplish societies’ goals. There are no net benefits, and the costs are mind boggling. Still, societies’ inhabitants continue to insist that the efforts continue. Faith is placed over and over in agencies that have always wreaked havoc on us. The Federal Reserve is given deference at every turn. The Federal Reserve has acted as a destructive force from the beginning. The Department of Education was created in 1979. Education levels in the United States have been dropping ever since. These are just two examples. Yet, not one in one thousand will even entertain the idea of closing any federal agency.  The illusion that they are solving problems keeps society aggressively buying more of the negative outcomes they generate.

I am not alone in predicting a worldwide depression. I believe I am alone in predicting that a permanent depression is unavoidable and that seeking collective solutions and expecting government to turn the situation around will make matters much more devastating than doing nothing at all.

It is worth mentioning that viable free market practices and democratic principles emerged following the middle ages. History shows that free individuals guiding government and practicing independent economic decisions have been the only engines in all of time that have generated well-being, prosperity and affluence of the masses. As we give up these two ingredients as individuals, all we can do is seek the best outcomes for ourselves.
